This is an extension of a book trailer I made with Mike Slack for The Light Years, a memoir by Chris Rush. Chris asked me to make a longer version of the book trailer he could use as a backdrop for readings of The Light Years. This is that video. Carl Broemel created the amazing original music.

Rachel Feinstein's The Snow Queen is inspired by the 1845 Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale that centers on the struggle between good and evil as experienced by two young children. Feinstein's interpretation explores the thin line between beauty and ruin. She borrows images and themes such as soldiers, roses, children, ice and a golden coach instead of making a literal recreation of the fairy tale's narrative. The story hinges on a magic mirror that reflects the darker regions of the human psyche, pitting two innocent children, Kai and Gerda, against a bewitching ice queen whose kisses can kill.
A Day in the Life of Andy Springer
Documentary Short

In 2005, at age 25, Andy Springer began serving a sentence in an Indiana state prison as punishment for a series of D.U.I. violations. While incarcerated, Andy developed an acute pain in his back. Fearing this was the return of a rare form of spinal cancer he had successfully fought in the year 2000, Andy immediately sought medical help from the prison. Those in charge ignored his pleas for 17 months. During that time Andy lost the use of his legs - a direct result of the cancerous tumors attacking his spine. Eventually acknowledging their mistake, the prison released Andy. He is now living with terminal cancer and is permanently paralyzed from the waist down. The film shows Andy living a typical day.

Jesus' Castle is a short film about iconoclastic artist, Dominic Espinoza, aka Cano, who lives in the Southwestern part of the United States. In the tradition of Howard Finster and other outsider artists, Cano began creating a large-scale monument to Jesus in 1980 by salvaging raw materials from junk yards. He continues to work on Jesus' Castle to this day. Liminal Co © 2007

Brammer's Artist Statement-
"Our minds, left unattended, can endlessly churn out thoughts, much like the swirling clouds in the sky that dissipate into each other. This cloud of thought is often repetitious and is usually anticipating future events or lost in memories of the past. Behind this ceaseless torrent, there is an expansive ocean of calm, rooted in the present moment, that can be accessed through stillness. In this day and age, with our increasing reliance on technology and our hyper-paced speed of living, the mind rarely gets a chance to be quiet. My exhibition features work inspired by these notions and invites the viewer to question what is perceived, look through illusion, and step Into the Ocean of Being.
